The Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra was established in June 2000 under the name of Summer Strings. Originally intended as a chamber music experience for students of Dr. Tepping and Mrs. Farnham, the group rehearsed in the Farnham’s living room. Over the summer it grew in membership to a full-sized chamber orchestra, which included children from several different schools, as well as their musically inclined parents. At the end of the summer the families wanted to continue on a year-round basis and, no longer just for the summer, the Four Seasons Chamber Orchestra was born.
In March 2020 the orchestra suspended rehearsals due to COVID-19. For over a year following, meetings were held bi-weekly via Zoom to discuss playing techniques and music history. In January of 2024, the orchestra moved to its new location as the First Christian Church in Decatur, GA, directly cross from the Decatur post office.
